Mandala Projects

What is a Mandala Project?

Mandala has massively expanded the reach of our projects, reducing consultation with landowners and allowing us to take the bricks to the people.

Circles are arranged in a hexagonal pattern that resembles a secular mandala where each individual circle is primed with a solid colour and decorated by an individual in the community where the finished piece will be displayed.

During a Mandala Project, we run regular workshops with a partner organisation, aiming for a particular size/quantity of circles in a specified period of time. We publicise regular painting sessions aiming to invite as many people as possible to participate. For example, with our 2024-25 Avonmouth Mandala, we increased awareness of Avonmouth Community Centre by running workshops with local schools and a nearby food bank. Participants can take some circles home with with them. Magnets stick to the back to make them gift fridge magnets.

The biggest we have made was Easton Mega Mandala (pictured) which is on permanent display in Easton Community Centre.
