Working at unloved or neglected bricked or tiled public areas, a Brick Project improves the environment people are living in by developing an event and creating a memory of place for years to come. Live painting days are programmed in preparation for a collaborative activity where people of different backgrounds can work cooperatively on a permanent public art piece. Depending on the size of the wall, Brick Projects generally take 14 - 21 days to complete.
Locals in the area directly control the theme of the mural, designing and painting a brick each. By hiring local people as facilitators, the community are given agency in the creation of a permanent piece of public art, including celebrations of individuals, cultures, events and even memorials.
Words, pictures or abstract, There is no such thing as a bad painting!
We can take any brick wall…. and turn it into something like this.

Alongside Brick Project, Mandala brings people together through collaborative, large-scale artworks — each one shaped by the individuals involved.
