Macclesfield Town Council commissioned a project in The Park Street Underpass in the historic town of Macclesfield. Experienced in developing community art initiatives, councillor Neil Puttick recognised that Brick Project would allow people to take collective ownership of the Park Lane underpass, which had become unloved over the years. The project was on such a large scale (over 7000 bricks) that it had to be painted over three 14 day sessions over two years. The project was instrumental in reaching people who can feel less included in society, working closely with R.O.A.R., a group for people in recovery and SUSO Parachute Drop-In.
